A demonstration of what can be accomplished through the use of alternative cancer therapies.

Role of pH in Prevention

The metabolic function of a cancer cell is anaerobic. Cancer cells block calcium molecules which carry oxygen to healthy cells. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. When the saliva and urine pH is between 6.8 and 7.2 , the cancer cell is unable to successfully block oxygen from penetrating the cell membrane. Oxygen will destroy cancer cells within 12 to 24 hours. Monitoring pH (your acid / alkaline balance) is essential in treating cancer. Dr. Otto Warburg, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 and 1946 for his cancer research, created cancer in normal cells simply by reducing the available oxygen. A lack of oxygen was the catalyst which allowed normal cells to mutate into cancer cells. A large majority of the American diet consists of acid forming foods. There is strong evidence to support the fact that a diet rich in alkaline foods may play a significant role in overcoming cancer.

After the completion of my chemotherapy, I began consuming 2 to 3 liters of fresh vegetable juice daily. When green leafy plants such as kale, chard, spinach and parsley are included in the juice, the saliva and urine pH will become more alkaline. PH levels can be monitored easily and effectively at home with litmus paper. Drinking fresh, organic juice also assists the body in its detoxification process following chemotherapy. I had a severe rash on my chest and back as a result of chemotherapy that quickly diminished once I started juicing.

Dr. Lorraine Day overcame stage 4 breast cancer by forgoing traditional cancer treatments and integrating a holistic approach. Juicing was one of her primary treatment methods. Her video, I'm Not Afraid of Cancer Anymore, outlines her story and her treatment approach. You can also visit her website at www.drday.com.
